Founder and CEO
Ron Dombrowski has had a career in software development and as a serial entrepreneur.
At Information Software, he led the development of Prophesy LoadLogic, a DOS based product for route optimization for the long-haul motor freight market place. Later he was a co-founder of RoTec, where he designed LoadPlanner, the first route optimization products for the Windows platform. In 1993, RoTec was awarded the MapInfo Corporation “Developer of the Year” award for integrating a Windows application with their flagship product.
As a co-founder of InterGis, where he designed Visual Control Room, the first multi-user route optimization product. This product was designed to meet the needs of regional delivery and service business and was installed at companies ranging from local furniture store to Fortune 500 distribution operations. Visual Control Room was part of a solution that received Mobile Enterprise Magazine’s “Mobile Application of the Year” award.
He started Walzik and designed Strategic Movements to bring the benefits of cost reduction through route optimization to a larger audience, including organizations with smaller fleets, long underserved in the market place.
Joe Shapiro has extensive experience in both technical and general management.
Early in his career, he worked for Bunker Ramo as both an individual contributor and manager, ultimately supervising applications development and leading a team of 25 developers to plan, implement and support two of the company’s main software application
He joined Electronic Retailing Systems International as Director of Software Engineering, a startup that produced “electronic shelf labels” for grocery stores and led a team of 7-8 software engineers to plan, develop and support the software that managed approximately 10,000 electronic labels per store.
In 2001 he co-founded Abbott & Shapiro, Inc and developed a point of sale and inventory management system for jewelry stores. This company grew to be the leader in that vertical market with roughly 3,000 stores using the software. After developing the software, he hired a team of developers to do the development work and concentrated on company direction and process.
Fay Sobottka has an expertise in freight forwarding and logistics operations, technology, customer happiness, and quality; she has 25 years of knowledge and experience in a variety of Strategic and Tactical leadership roles which have translated vision into actionable plans which achieved results. Through application of Quality principles as the fundamental way to work in companies focused on continual improvement of efficiency and productivity, she can identify and develop solutions to solve problems by leading cross functional teams with a hands-on approach with operations.
She has worked for top tier global logistics and supply chain organizations including DHL Global Forwarding, GEODIS, and DB Schenker; roles have included Director of Quality & Sustainability, Project Manager, and Business Intelligence Manager. Fay has worked as the Operations Manager for two technology startups, DKA Global Services and CargoMatrix. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with focus on International Business, is a certified Lead Auditor for three ISO Standards, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
