Welcome to Strategic Movements.

I’m Andrew and today I am going to demonstrate the easiest way to perform route optimization using Strategic Movements.

There are many ways to use Strategic Movements and one of the most common is take the work that needs to be done and to match each to a driver or vehicle so that the overall transportation cost is minimized.

The simplest and easiest to use is the daily process.

The daily process is used to create a work plan for the next work day, upload work from a file created by another application, and then perform the route optimization process.

Let’s see how to do this.

After logging into Strategic Movements, click on the green Start Daily Process button.

The Create Plan screen is shown. Here there are several parameters that may be set, but we will take the default values and click on the Create Plan and Upload button.

After the plan has been created, the work to be done needs to be uploaded.

Click on the Choose File button to select a file.

Select the file, and then click the Upload button.

Once the file is uploaded, you will see the number of records processed.

Click on the Submit Plan button to start the route optimization process.

The plan will be shown as it goes through the route optimization process.

When done, the results can be shown on the Dispatch Board by clicking on that link.

Here are the results. You can make changes here using drag and drop, or can use any of the available assignment tools.

In just a minute or two with a few clicks, an efficient routing plan is produced.

And you can print trip lists or send the trips to your choice of GPS or handheld terminal applications.
